my name is amy welborn

i was born in 1971 and grew up on a very small farm. i love the country life and love photographing it even though i now live in an urban setting. i am always looking for new things to shoot and new ways to shoot

i have been searching for a long time for a way to express myself artistically. i have always been good at alot of different types of art, but i have a problem with patience. that is i don’t have much. a few years ago i took a very basic class on photography and bought my first digital camera. a cannon powershot s2 is. but quickly outgrew it. i now have a nikon d40x that i am in love with and have named herbie, the shutter bug.

i like the instant gratification that photography gives me. i don’t like doing a lot of post-editing work. maybe cropping and some brightness/contrast or hue. there are a few here that i did a little more to but for the most part they are as i saw them through the view finder. although i am exploring more what post editing can be done and am looking for any tips that might be out there

i like looking for that right moment and right time type of photography. although there are shots that i’ve set up, these are more expressions of my emotions that overwhelm me, than the desires that are in my heart.
